This has been and will be a journey of increasing faith in God. We are simply following His lead as best we can. We started with a need of $50,000 to fund this adoption, and all but $1000 has been raised. Some fees were reduced, then there were unexpected expenses, but there is just $1000 remaining to fund the adoption of 5 orphans. That is amazing, I think! I trust God will also provide the rest so that we can shout from the roof that God did this, and He provided the funding. He did not leave our 5 as orphans. Praise God. Prayer works, and God has not left our 5 as orphans. Today they are our sons and daughters. They have a mom and dad, another brother, 3 more sisters, grandparents, and a whole church family. Today a whole new story of redemption begins, and 5 more will hear the gospel.
Today is day that we are allowed to officially tell you the secret European Country from which God has called us to adopt. May 2nd we left home to fly to Ukraine. We arrived May 3rd with our 2 older daughters, accepted the referrals of our 5 children on May 6th, met our children May 8th. Our visits were twice a day for 2 hours a day. My husband left to return home and work, while I stayed. Shortly after learning that court was taking a while, I headed back to the states to celebrate our daughter's 4th birthday and an early Father's day. Last Friday we heard that our court had been set for June 12th. Court may have taken a while to get, but it went as smoothly as can be. So, today we get to share with the world that we have 9 precious children, 9 blessings. At our visit after court, we were wondering if the progress we had with our kids before we left had been lost. But they picked back up all the progress after a few short minutes of starting to play. To top it off, our oldest asked where Abi, her sister, was. I told her she's in America waiting for her. She was sad, then when she realized she too would be going to see her and living there. Then she was excited!
