- E has told me several times, "Mom, when the baby turns 4, I'm going to share my pull ups with him." Mom's thoughts, "Um, You'd better not have any pull ups to share at that time!"
- We had received freebie coupons a while back and were at a restaurant using them. The server said, "Thanks, Sweetie," to J. He responded with, "You're welcome, Sweetie!" There were a lot of giggles from everyone who heard. J said, "Uh, Momma, why dis lady laugh at me? I say what she say! What is this, 'Sweetie'?" I told is was just a loving name people called each other sometimes. Then I had to explain it again right after when we went to the grocery. Someone called him "Babe." He said, "Uh, ok, 'Babe.'" Then looked at me with a crazy look and asked why these people called him these names when they don't even know him.
- Today, H said, "Momma, when I get bigger, I want God to tell you who I marry, and you tell me. Ok? Momma, no glasses (which she said in Russian), Ok? I no like glasses." She had such a shy look on her face. Probably because Daddy and I both wear glasses. I said, "Ok. But, what if YOU need to wear glasses?" She says, "Then I take off glasses and run in to walls. I not wear!"
- This isn't a "saying," per say, but I loved what H had to say about her sister A. H told me today how she likes having her sister A with her all the time. She explained how A, our first born biological daughter and therefore English speaking, helps her understand everything when I'm not there, like at children's church. H expressed that she didn't want to go anywhere without A. H explained that she wished they were the same age so that they could always be together and even get married at the same time. She loves her helpful sister who is younger in age yet older in every other way. I guess this "oldest child" set up that we have is a bit weird, but it's working pretty good.
